Redwood is an intelligent, charming boy with a wild imagination that keeps him alive. Faced with a harsh world where his father is imprisoned on drug charges and his mother, a woman who left him when he was a baby, is remarried into a strict and weird family, Redwood has to find his own way. When Redwood is moved into his mother’s care on a remote farm, it's clear he's not welcome and survival mode kicks in. Redwood’s escape is his elaborate fantasy about winning the prized Green Jacket against the great Jack Nicklaus. He carries his golf club with him everywhere. In the end Redwood is going to have to face reality but in the meantime, his irresistible charm and resolute will is destined to win over his doubters. Redwood, after all, is a winner.
