Synopsis:
80 degrees north of the Arctic Circle, a small community built on mining is trying to survive itself. While the mining industry is the throbbing heart and financial lifeline of the town, it’s also gradually destroying the city by burrowing and bombing under its surface. From the astonishing beauty of the stark winter to long green days of a Nordic summer, BROKEN HILL BLUES follows the course of a group of teenagers, about to become adults. As the town around them shakes and rattles, bearing its fragility, we are also confronted with the aching vulnerability of these restless characters as they dream of change, and dig for a better future.
