MY LIFE AS A COMEDIAN directed by Rojda Sekersöz selected for its World Premiere in Toronto
My Life as a Comedian is selected in the Discovery Section at TIFF and is based on the successful novel by Jonas Gardell.
Juha has a very successful career as a comedian with a sell-out stand-up show all about his childhood and how his experiences lead him to where he is today. Audiences come from far and wide to hear Juha's hilarious stories about crazy PE teachers and his performance as the class jester but the real story is one Juha is unable to tell the audience. It is not a story of comedy but one of tragedy and Juha must navigate through his memories on a path to redemption.
My Life as a Comedian is directed by Rojda Sekersöz, written by Jonas Gardell and produced by Martin Persson for Anagram Sweden.
Rojda Sekersöz’s earlier film Dröm vidare (Beyond Dreams) won the Audience Award for the Best Nordic Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival and Rodja herself won The Angelo Award in Gothenburg and Best Newcomer at the Guldbagge Awards (Swedish Oscars).
The lead roles of Juha as adult and 12 year-old are played by Johan Rheborg (The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared, Solsidan, Kielergata) and Loke Hellberg respectively.
The Yellow Affair will commence sales in Toronto for the world excluding the Nordic territories.
Karoliina Dwyer from THE YELLOW AFFAIR will be attending TIFF from 5-11 Sep.
